BLOGRAPHY
Just like most people, I wear many hats. I am a mother of two girls. I am a wife. I am a teacher. And, I am also an ARTIST. It took me a long time to admit/say the latter.
Growing up I always wanted to be an artist. But when I realized I wasn't the "artsy-fartsy" stereotype that I thought I should be, I gave up. Age and wisdom helped me to realize that there isn't one type of artist, just as there isn't one type of art.
Once I came to the realization that I wanted to pursue art seriously, I knew I would need to get over my fear and discomfort of being judged. That is where this blog comes in. It is a way of putting my paintings out there without the fear of failure. And the results have been wonderful.
Whether it is showing my art or just journaling my days, this blog and my loyal [and first time] readers help to keep me motivated and creative.
Thank you and please come back soon.
This was my first media coverage as an artist. This photograph was taken of me in pre-school. It appeared in the local newspaper in February 1975. I was 3 1/2 years old.
