You may remember back in April/May I was going to a lot of Artist Studio Tours. There was a different one every weekend - Oak Bay, Gordon Head, Fairfield, Broadmead/Cordova Bay, Vic West, and Saanich/Victoria. I really enjoyed going to all the different artists' home studios but it got a bit exhausting doing it every single weekend. Once they were all done, I was actually relieved. But since then I've really wanted to go to another artsy type thing. So I was very excited to hear the Bowker Creek Brush Up was on today.
There were over 30 Oak Bay artists painting and showing their art. It was great. Lots of great artist. Many I've seen before. Many new to me.
Below is Marty Machecek. He paints local buildings a very funky way.
Below are Ingrid Fawcett paintings.
And, you probably recognize Ted Harrison's art, below.
I spent about an hour and a half just wandering around talking to the artists and enjoying their works. Doing this sort of thing really encourages me and makes me want to paint even more.
MY ART: I am just about finished my painting. I need to go have a good look at it now and see if there is any more I can do to it. Hopefully, I'll be finished by tomorrow and if the weather is decent, I'll photograph it and let you have a look.
Hope you had a good weekend.
