For the first time all summer, all I want to do is paint. When I haven't painted for a while it gets harder and harder to get motivated, to think of things to paint, to feel creative and therefore, be creative.
Since taking the encaustic workshop last week I haven't stopped thinking about painting. I've painted almost every day since. I've even been having trouble falling asleep at night because colours and images, ideas and designs are running through my brain. I love it. I only wish I had more time to paint. But I know that will come soon enough.
I have several paintings on the go. I am not sure if any are great, but each time I paint it breeds more ideas. I am hoping to get some encaustic painting supplies set up. I am still searching for the right equipment. [if anyone has an old heat gun (paint stripper) and/or an electric skillet that they don't need anymore and want to sell them to me, let me know]. I buffed up my encaustic piece the other day and it turned out quite nice.
I plan on being even more creative in the days/weeks to come. Not only do I have some more ideas for paintings but I have another workshop coming up. It is an online one. I'll tell you a bit more about it in the next few days. I am excited about it.
Sean has taken Emmy fishing off the rocks at the beach near our house. I am going to get Macy put to bed and then get back to painting.
Hope you have a creative weekend!
