schools out for summer
I am shocked at the end of every school year at just how fast the year has gone and yet it seems like such a long time ago since September. June is always so chaotic with wrapping up sports for the season, class picnics, school assemblies, fun day, school bbq, and general year end stuff. And this end to the school year was no different.
While the classrooms and desks are now empty, my house is now full of every piece of artwork and activity that the girls worked on throughout the year. What do I do with it all? I will certainly put some of it their memory boxes, but I just don't have the energy to go through it all.
I always have high hopes for getting so much done throughout the summer. And at the end of every summer I am disappointed by how little I actually got done, but happy at what a good time we had as a family.
This summer I will try to balance it all a bit better. I need to put aside time to paint. I am going to make a to-do list and get things done. But for today, the last day of June, I am going to sit and relax. And in July, I am going to hit the ground running.
