There are lots of congratulations to go around today.  First off, let's get to the important stuff.  Who was the winner to my 2nd ever giveaway?

Second on the list of congratulations goes to Sean who ran the Royal Victoria (1/2) Marathon this morning.  He was expecting to be under 1 hour 50 minutes, but was secretly hoping to do under 1 hour 45 minutes.  He has been injured for the past 3 weeks and hasn't been able to train, so he wasn't too sure he'd achieve his goal.  But he did it.  He finished in:

Isn't that awesome?  Congratulations to my hubby!  I am so proud of you!!

The weather couldn't have been better.  It was warm and sunny.  This is a photo from where I was standing at the 10k mark.  Beautiful Dallas Rd.  

I also saw Kathryn from the Martini Mommas running the full Marathon.  She came all the way from Winnipeg for this.  I had been watching for her and must have gotten distracted for a moment and all of a sudden I saw her running by me.  In my panic, I screamed her name like a maniac.  I am sure I scared the crap out of her.  Sorry about that Kathryn.  She was looking strong at 10k and I am sure she finished strong too.  Congratulations!!

MY ART:  I have been wanting to try different styles of painting.  The problem is there are so many styles that it is sometimes hard to decide what to try first.  So for the next little while I am going to try as many different styles as possible until I find something that really fits me.

Here is a small study piece I have been working on.  This is a style I am trying out.  This piece is a view from our campsite on Thetis Island, BC.  Sean's family has been camping at this private site for about 50 years.  It is a special place for the family.  We love the view of these hills across the ocean.  Sean and his family call these hills/mountains "Sleeping Beauty".  

This study piece is 10"x20", acrylic on canvas board.
