I am happy to have been accepted into the Sidney Fine Art Show again this year. This will be my second year in a row having paintings on display. Last year, I was so excited to get three paintings accepted. This year I was a bit behind and was only able to finish two new paintings in time to be submitted for adjudication. But I am thrilled that they were both accepted.
I hope you are able to go to this great show and see all the amazing art. If you'd like to see my two new pieces, they will be on display from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19. Hope to see you there.
I was recently asked by Dana Miller, interior design specialist of Splash Home Staging & Design, if I would be willing to let her use some of my paintings for a show suite that she would be staging at a new luxury condo near downtown Victoria. Of course I said "yes".
She chose to hang "creekside" (above), as it compliments the bedroom's teal and chartreuse colour theme. It is an absolutely beautiful suite in a gorgeous building with breathtaking views.
"Creekside" will be hanging in the show suite at the Promontory at Bayview Place until November 2014.

Well, once again I will have two paintings on display at the annual LOOK Art Show. This will be my fourth year participating in the LOOK Show. This year they have changed the venue from the Bay Centre to Uptown.
The show will run for three weeks, from May 3-24, so if you happen to be at Uptown anytime in the next little while, be sure to take in the show. With over 400 paintings on display, there is something for everyone's tastes.

It is hard to believe, but I started this blog 5 years ago as a way of displaying my paintings. A couple of years in I developed a website to show my paintings in a more professional manner and it was a good little website to start with. But over the past year, it has become a challenge to use. It just wasn't user friendly for me. I have been meaning to create a new site for many months. Now after a few weeks of late nights, I have finally finished my new website for Audrey Hayes Art.
Check it out and let me know what you think. I am sure there will be many little changes that I need to make as I notice them. Or perhaps something doesn't work the way I (or you) would like it to. If you have any comments or suggestioins, please let me know. I'd really like your input.
As for this blog, I will still continue to post...on occassion. I have found that blogging takes a lot of time and that is time that I should be using to paint. But I do not want to abandon this little blog just yet. I have a lot of memories and time tied up in it. I will post whenever it feels right.

If you hadn't noticed it has been pretty quiet around here for the last few months. Well, I've been busy painting and... creating a new website. It is just about up and running and as soon as it is, I'll let you know here first.

This is what I have been waiting for for a long time now. The Sidney Fine Art Show is on this weekend and this year, for the first time, I have three paintings accepted. This has been called the best juried fine art show in Western Canada. I am honoured to be a part of this world-class art show.
If you are in town this weekend and your are looking to add a little culture to your life, be sure to see the show.
Thursday night is the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony for the artists, patrons and sponsors of the show (by invitation only). Sean and I are going. I am looking forward to it.
I will also be at the show on Saturday evening for a "Meet the Artists".
